Handcrafted in Colombia, are these pretty drop earrings with silver pierced loops and multicoloured tagua (known as vegetable ivory), a seed from a palm tree that grows in the tropical regions of South America. When ripe the nuts fall to the ground and are gathered and dried for up to 2 years after which they become extremely hard. Today, tagua is replacing the slaughter of mammal ivory in the textile and fashion industries. The artisans making this jewellery are certified in Columbia by the Administrative Department of the Environment and comply with all environmental conservation policies. These earrings match beautifully with the Chikle Tagua Necklace and have colours of green, coral, blue and rusty orange.
